The College was established at the end of the year 2022, with exceptional guidance and support from the Holy Hussaini Shrine, represented by His Eminence, the legal custodian Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalai (may his honor endure), to form a qualitative addition and a beacon of hope in the journey of medical education in Iraq.

The College was founded to serve as an active platform for intellectual exchange between various global schools of medicine, benefiting from the rich scientific legacy carried by Tehran University of Medical Sciences, as one of the most prominent academic institutions in this field.

In addition to being a pioneering international experience in medical education, the College embodies advanced expertise that goes beyond academic teaching and research, to include the direct provision of medical and healthcare services to millions of citizens, thereby enhancing its position as a fully integrated applied educational institution.

Accordingly, studying and working at this College represents a distinguished opportunity to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience, ensuring educational outcomes that align with the strategic vision of the sponsoring institution, while simultaneously meeting the requirements of local, regional, and international labor markets, in accordance with globally recognized standards for evaluating the competence of medical school graduates.

The study program at the College is divided into three main phases:

1. Basic Sciences Phase: in which the student acquires foundational theoretical knowledge in medical sciences.
2. Intermediate Phase – Pathological and Physiological Sciences: which the student enters after passing a comprehensive national examination, and where they deepen their understanding of disease mechanisms and body functions.
3. Final Phase – Clinical Training: which includes practical training in hospitals and healthcare centers under the supervision of qualified professors from Tehran University, in addition to a distinguished group of experienced Iraqi faculty members.

This educational structure provides a diverse and rich environment of experiences, enabling students to develop both practical and scientific skills, and preparing them to become competent physicians capable of working according to the highest international standards.
