College of Medicine Council

The Council of the College of Medicine held its inaugural session, which coincided with the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq (peace be upon him). The council drew inspiration from his great and profoundly established role in founding scientific and methodological schools in early Islam, as well as his prominent symbolic status as the founder of one of the oldest scientific schools in the Islamic world.

The session was chaired by the Dean of the College of Medicine, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Fawzi Al-Qanbar, while the University President patronized a part of the session, in the presence of the Scientific and Administrative Assistants.

The session included an extensive discussion of several key topics, most notably the recommendations of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, alongside ministerial and university recommendations. Additionally, the council reviewed a number of scientific and educational issues and discussed the most prominent challenges facing the workflow during the current phase.

The session concluded with several important recommendations, most notably:

  • Completing the establishment of the scientific departments.
  • Emphasizing the importance of updating teaching methods.
  • Enhancing collaboration with the hospitals affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine to ensure the success of the most critical challenge: clinical training.

Furthermore, the recommendations encompassed the entire educational process in an effort to elevate the academic standard. This meeting comes in the context of completing the establishment of academic structures, bodies, and systems for various activities at the university.
