Al-Subtain University for Medical Sciences Organizes Intensive Clinical Preparation Course for Fourth-Year Students

Under the gracious auspices of the President of Al-Sibtain University, Professor Dr. Rahim Mahdi Rahim, and under the direct supervision of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Fawzi Al-Qanbar, the College of Medicine organized an intensive training course for fourth-year medical students. This program coincides with the students' transition from the Basic Sciences stage to the Clinical Practice phase, aiming to ensure their full readiness for the medical field according to international standards.

Key Course Modules:

  • Hospital Environment: Familiarizing students with the administrative and technical systems within teaching hospitals and teaching them how to adapt to the atmosphere of wards and operating theaters to ensure clinical efficiency and institutional discipline.
  • Life-Saving Skills: Intensive practical training on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) protocols and immediate intervention in critical and emergency cases to save lives during "Golden Hour" scenarios.
  • Minor Surgery: Mastering basic surgical skills, including various wound suturing techniques, sterilization methods, and professional handling of surgical instruments in outpatient departments and emergency rooms.
  • Soft Skills: Enhancing leadership abilities, teamwork, time management, and the capacity to work under pressure, which contributes to building a well-rounded physician capable of sound decision-making.
  • Professional Ethics and Communication: Reinforcing the etiquette of interacting with various medical and healthcare staff, and developing effective communication skills with patients and their families, emphasizing the humanitarian and ethical aspects of healthcare delivery.
