Scientific Lecture

The scientific lecture delivered by Dr. Ghodratollah Panahi began by highlighting the Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP) enzyme. Dr. Panahi reviewed its biological importance as a key driver within the human body, explaining that it is primarily found in the liver cells lining the biliary tract and in the bones.

During the presentation, he clarified that this enzyme plays a vital role in dephosphorylation processes and is only active in an alkaline environment. From a diagnostic perspective, he explained that elevated levels in the blood serve as an early warning for specific health issues, such as biliary obstruction or active bone diseases.

Regarding the practical and laboratory aspect, the doctor explained how this enzyme is analyzed using blood samples, where a specific chemical substrate is added to react with the enzyme, producing a distinctive yellow color. By measuring the intensity of this color, laboratory analysts can accurately determine the enzyme concentration using spectrophotometers, ultimately providing a clear picture for the physician regarding the patient's liver or bone health.
