Biography

Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Fawzi Alqanbar is the Dean of the College of Medicine at Al-Subtain University and Head of the Department of Pathology. He has over two decades of experience in pathology, medical education, and academic leadership, with a distinguished career dedicated to advancing medical education, research, and institutional excellence.

Professor Alqanbar earned his MBChB from Al-Mustansiriya University College of Medicine in 1998, followed by a Master of Science (MSc) in Clinical Chemistry from Al-Nahrain University College of Medicine in 2005. He later obtained the Fellowship of the Iraqi Board for Medical Specializations (FIBMS) in Histopathology, becoming a board-certified specialist in pathology.

Prior to joining Al-Subtain University, Professor Alqanbar served for more than 20 years at the College of Medicine, University of Kerbala, where he held numerous academic and administrative positions. Throughout his career, he has played a significant role in curriculum development, quality assurance, and the modernization of medical education, with particular emphasis on integrated curricula, innovative teaching strategies, and student-centered learning.

Professor Alqanbar also serves as a member of the Scientific Council of Pathology, the national body responsible for specialist training and the Iraqi Board Fellowship in Pathology. In this capacity, he contributes to postgraduate medical education, specialist assessment, and the professional development of future pathologists across Iraq.

As Dean of the College of Medicine, he is committed to strengthening academic excellence, fostering research and innovation, promoting international collaboration, and preparing future physicians to meet the evolving healthcare needs of society.
