Overview

The Department of Pathology is a core academic department within the College of Medicine at Al-Subtain University of Medical Sciences. Led by Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Fawzi Alqanbar, Dean of the College of Medicine, the department provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the mechanisms of disease, bridging the gap between foundational biomedical sciences and clinical medicine. Through an integrated curriculum, it equips future physicians with the knowledge and diagnostic reasoning required to understand disease processes and support evidence-based clinical decision-making.

The department delivers high-quality teaching across general and systemic pathology while introducing students to the principles of histopathology, cytopathology, hematopathology, clinical pathology, immunopathology, and molecular pathology. Practical laboratory sessions and microscopy-based learning enable students to correlate pathological changes with clinical presentations, strengthening their diagnostic and analytical skills.

Committed to academic excellence, the department fosters scientific inquiry, interdisciplinary collaboration, and research engagement while promoting professionalism, ethical practice, and quality assurance in laboratory medicine. Through modern teaching methodologies and continuous curriculum development, the Department of Pathology prepares graduates to excel in clinical practice, research, and lifelong learning.
