• Inauguration: The center was officially inaugurated in March 2021 by the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain. It was established as a vital humanitarian and medical initiative to nationalize advanced healthcare and reduce the burden on Iraqi patients who previously had to travel abroad for complex treatments.
• Humanitarian Mission: Backed by the Holy Shrine, the center provides 100% free medical care and surgeries for children under the age of 12, and offers highly subsidized, cost-effective treatments for adult patients.

2. Academic Partnership & Clinical Training for AL-SUBTAIN University Students

The center serves as a premier clinical training and clerkship site for medical students from AL-SUBTAIN University for Medical Sciences, providing them with a top-tier educational environment:

• Advanced Clinical Exposure: Students gain rare, hands-on experience in specialized hematology-oncology protocols, managing complex blood disorders (such as leukemia and lymphoma), and observing the critical phases of bone marrow transplantation.
• High-Tech Laboratory Training: Students are trained within the center’s state-of-the-art laboratories, gaining practical knowledge in sophisticated diagnostic procedures including Flow Cytometry, HLA Typing, and stem cell processing.

• Bone Marrow Transplantation (BMT): The center is a pioneer in the region, successfully performing both Autologous (using the patient's own stem cells) and Allogeneic (using cells from a matched donor) transplants with success rates comparable to international institutions.
• Comprehensive Hematology: It offers expert diagnosis and therapeutic management for both malignant blood diseases and severe non-malignant chronic conditions (such as Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Anemia).
