Clerkship & Internship Locations

Clinical clerkship and internship are essential components of undergraduate medical education, providing students with supervised clinical experience in real healthcare settings and enabling them to integrate theoretical knowledge with clinical practice.

The College of Medicine conducts its clinical training in the healthcare institutions affiliated with the Holy Hussaini Shrine, which serve as the primary clinical training sites for undergraduate medical students. These include:

1. Imam Zain Al-Abideen Hospital

2. Al-Sayyida Khadija Al-Kubra Specialized Hospital for Women

3. Safeer Imam Al-Hussain Specialized Surgical Hospital

4. Warith International Cancer Institute

5. Imam Al-Mujtaba Center for Hematological Diseases and Bone Marrow Transplantation

These affiliated institutions provide students with comprehensive clinical exposure across a broad spectrum of medical and surgical specialties in a modern healthcare environment.

During their clinical clerkship and internship rotations, students actively participate in patient assessment, medical history taking, physical examination, clinical case discussions, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and multidisciplinary healthcare activities under the direct supervision of experienced faculty members and qualified physicians.

The clinical training program is designed to strengthen students’ clinical competence, critical thinking, communication skills, professional ethics, and commitment to patient-centered care while ensuring compliance with national and international standards of medical education.

The College of Medicine is committed to continuously expanding and strengthening its network of accredited clinical training sites to provide high-quality medical education, diverse clinical learning opportunities, and an outstanding educational environment that prepares graduates to meet the evolving healthcare needs of society.
