Department Overview

The Department of Internal Medicine is one of the core clinical departments of the College of Medicine, dedicated to excellence in medical education, clinical training, research, and patient care. The department prepares future physicians by providing comprehensive instruction in the diagnosis, management, and prevention of adult diseases while fostering professionalism, ethical practice, and lifelong learning.

Students gain extensive clinical experience through structured teaching in hospital wards, outpatient clinics, and specialized medical units under the supervision of experienced faculty members. The department emphasizes evidence-based medicine, clinical reasoning, and patient-centered care, enabling graduates to provide safe, competent, and compassionate healthcare across a broad range of medical specialties.

In addition to its educational role, the Department of Internal Medicine actively contributes to clinical and academic research aimed at addressing the healthcare needs of the community and advancing medical knowledge.
