Warith International Cancer Institute (WICI), located in Karbala, Iraq, is one of the country's leading specialized oncology centers. Established as a non-profit healthcare institution under the support of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine and operating within the Health and Medical Education Authority, the institute provides comprehensive cancer diagnosis and treatment services in accordance with international standards.

Establishment

Founded in 2021, Warith International Cancer Institute offers advanced oncology services, including medical oncology, radiation oncology, nuclear medicine, surgical oncology, molecular diagnostics, early cancer detection, and supportive care. The institute is also recognized for providing free cancer treatment for children under the age of 15 and for its contribution to advancing oncology care and medical education in Iraq.

Clinical Education and Training

As part of its commitment to excellence in medical education, the College of Medicine – AL-SUBTAIN University provides its medical students with clinical training rotations at Warith International Cancer Institute. Under the supervision of experienced consultant physicians and specialists, students gain hands-on clinical experience in oncology, enhancing their knowledge of cancer diagnosis, patient management, and modern therapeutic approaches while strengthening their clinical competencies in accordance with contemporary medical education standards.
