The Colleges of Medicine and Nursing at Al-Subtain University for Medical Sciences organized a comprehensive scientific seminar titled "Infections, Germs, and Mechanisms for the Proper Use of Antibiotics." The event saw active participation from university staff and students, as part of the university's ongoing academic health awareness initiatives.

The keynote lecture was delivered by Professor Dr. Thayer Wali Ali, Head of the Scientific Research Department, providing an in-depth and precise scientific analysis covering the following pillars:

1. Biomechanics of Bacterial Resistance: The seminar discussed Phenotypic and Genotypic resistance, explaining how resistance genes are transmitted via "plasmids." This process leads to the emergence of Multi-Drug Resistant (MDR) strains that bypass conventional therapeutic options.
2. Antimicrobial Stewardship Strategies: Emphasis was placed on the necessity of selecting the optimal antibiotic based on Culture and Sensitivity (C&S) testing, while adhering to the exact dosage and duration to ensure total eradication of the infection and prevent recurrence.
3. Infection Dynamics and Prevention: A precise scientific distinction was made between bacterial colonization and active infection, highlighting rigorous sterilization protocols required to break the chain of infection within clinical environments.
4. Community Awareness: Clarifying the fundamental differences between viral and bacterial infections, and warning against the dangers of self-medication, which contributes to the escalation of global health crises
